On aol news this morning they are featuring a story on a fresh water octupus out of Oaklahoma. There have been many stories over the years of such a creature, but has never been proven.
They say that for years Native Americans have told legends of the lake monster the size of a horse. But from an anonymus person whome lives in Oaklahoma says the lake wasn’t even formed until 1965 when the Norman damm was completed. So from that point of view it is impossible for the native americans to have started the legends.

But from anothers point of view. Sharks were considered to only live in oceans up until a few years ago when it was found that some spiecies of shark can actually swim up rivers to live in fresh water. So who is to say there isn’t some spiecies of Octopus that could do the same?
Above is a picture of a Blue Ringed Octopus that lives in tide pools of the Pacific Ocean. They are one of the most venomious creatures known to man.
The above picture is a Humboldt Squid or Jumbo Squid. They are found in the waters of the Humboldt Current. It is a very aggressive predatory squid that is usually found 660 – 2300 feet below the surface. They have also been know to come within 400 foot of the surface and attack divers. They can grow to be up to 7 feet and weigh in at 100 pounds!!
So there are some big ones out there and some aggressive and venomious ones but could they possibly be living in Oaklahoma?
