Today I thought everyone needs a break sometimes. And what better place the a place called the Dead Sea. No it’s sound isn’t very appealing, but it’s health and stress free wonders amaze me that it isn’t a bigger tourist attraction. You always here people talkin about Bahama’s and Hawii and other warm sunny places, but never the Dead Sea.
The Dead Sea is a facinating place. It’s shores are lowest points on the Earths surface. It is located West of Jordan and east of Isreal. It is 6.8 times saltier than the ocean. Due to this no living creature can live in the Dead Sea. Only miniscule amounts of bacteria and fungus are present.
330 days a year of sun that comes through an atmospheric filter makes least chance of sun burn. It’s health benifits are amazing. It is such a mystical place. Even being mentioned in the bible and archeologists haveing found the Dead Sea Scrolls in 11 caves on the Dead Seas shores.
After a particularly rainy winter in 1980 the salinity of The Dead Sea droped due to the large amounts of water. Because of this the normal deep blue of The Dead Sea changed to a red. Apon further investigation scientists found that due to the lowered salinity a type of red pigmented algea was able to grow. Never sense has this happend.
